Kangan, Apr 15 (KNO): The Kangan Premier League (KPL) 2026 kicked off with enthusiasm at Sheikh-ul-Alam Stadium, Kangan on Wednesday, witnessing a large presence of cricket fans.
The tournament, organised by Kangan Cricket Board (KCB), aims to boost sports activities in the region and provide a platform to budding cricketers. The inaugural match was played between Royal Goodwill and Valley Stars Ganderbal.
As many as 20 teams are participating in the league, promising an exciting tournament ahead.
MLA Kangan Mian Mehar Ali, SDPO Kangan Rajeev Raina, SHO Kangan Younis Ah Khan, and KCB President Peerzada Ashraf were present on the occasion, along with other officials and sports lovers.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Ali, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said he will continue to support sports initiatives and youth engagement in the constituency.
KCB President Peerzada Ashraf thanked all stakeholders and said such tournaments play a vital role in channelising youth towards positive activities.
